How HortiSynthesis Works

HortiSynthesis improves both the rate and efficiency of photosynthesis, helping plants convert light into energy more effectively for stronger, faster growth. This increased photosynthetic activity raises cellular sugar levels, boosting productivity throughout the season.

Active Components

 

MTU (1-(2-methoxyethyl)-3-(1,2,3‑thiadiazol‑5‑yl) urea)

  • Activates phytochrome, improving red/far‑red light absorption

  • Stimulates the AHK3 cytokinin receptor, promoting stronger root development and improved resilience

PGA (an amino acid)

  • Enhances nitrogen assimilation and utilisation
  • Reduces toxic ammonia build‑up under stress
  • Contributes to chlorophyll synthesis and overall plant health

 

 

Fruit Production

HortiSynthesis trials on strawberries grown in coir in the Netherlands showed an increase in marketable yield of 5.2% from 3 applications at 0.25 L/Ha, as well as an increase in size grade and Brix. This trial also showed an increase in fruit firmness and shelf life.

HortiSynthesis trials on apples grown in Hungary showed an increase in marketable yield of 12.0% from 2 applications at 0.5 L/Ha, as well as an increase in size grade.

 

 

Ornamentals

Improves the rate and efficiency of photosynthesis in plants for optimal establishment, growth and performance.

HortiSynthesis improves and speeds up establishment and increases stress resilience – ideal for use in peat-free growing media to reduce the transplant stresses, but equally beneficial to crops grown in peat and other substrates.

It promotes stronger, healthier root structure, improving establishment, reducing stress and increasing nutrient uptake.

HortiSynthesis increases the plants’ ability to utilise nitrogen, keeping the plant growing more healthily, increasing crop quantity, quality and health.

Helps photosynthesis in plants enabling them to grow better for longer periods, with less growth check.

It is suitable for tank mixing (subject to usual good practice checks) with insecticides, fungicides, seaweeds etc. for foliar application, and can help the plant utilise other components improving overall efficacy.
